Concerns relevant to the Society of Molecules – micropolitics, embodiment, relational aesthetics, research creation (to name a few).
We talked about our investigations as producing a style of thought focussed around an inclusiveness and a desire to generate/make spaces open to others.
We tried to find a research question around these ideas. We also thought how a title for the molecule might function as a Haiku.
Working title and iterations so far are:
MOSS:
A rolling molecule gathers in moss.
molecule of several societies
molecule of several spaces
a rolling molecule gathers in MoS
Proposed development:
(1) An interaction between the 3 research-creation nodes of the molecule (and other nodes/project that may be added)
• There would be an individual generative phase
• Then a conjunction phase (series of group discussions etc, online and face-to-face)
• Then a crystallization phase (possible public presentation etc)
Possible use of Andrew Burrow’s 3D Wiki research at RMIT to provide a virtual infrastructure.
(2) Unpack the potential of these projects for the ethos (style of thought) of the Society of Molecules (generative phase)
(3) “A rolling molecule gathers moss” (getting select people to come
in at this later stage to have creative input)
(4) Gathering and opening, a micro-political event. (something that
is open to others)
Proposed projects:
Pia: architectural loops
Philipa: dance research project (more info to come)
Mike:
Title: “You treat the furniture like part of me”
A multimedia performance project on a rooftop, investigating a proposed
micropolitical architecture, using phosphate as a conceptual platform
for a transmission of affects through different scales of action and
modes of embodiment.
